Brother Charlie E. McClendon has been preaching the gospel for over 35 years. (Minister) Walter Cox, Jr., at the Westside Church of Christ in Jacksonville, Florida baptized him in 1962. He began preaching a few years later under the mentorship of Brother Walter Cox.

He served as the Assistant Minister at the Westside Church of Christ, and as one of the elders for several years. He also preached at the Miller Street Church of Christ in Orange Park, Florida for 4 years. In June 1973, Charlie McClendon became the full-time minister of the Northside Church of Christ in Jacksonville, Florida where he is still currently laboring.Brother McClendon has participated on lectureships, conducted gospel revival meetings and workshops all over the country. He had the distinct pleasure of preaching in the Holy Land in 1997.

Al Jackson was installed as the minister of Northside Church of Christ on Sunday, May 25, 2014. Al Jackson was the minister of the 10th Avenue Church of Christ in Gainesville, for over 11 years. He is now very excited to be working side by side with his mentor, Bro. McClendon. 

Al has been married for 16 years to his wonderful wife Anisha. They have two children Jalyn (13 years old) and A.J (10 years old). He earned his B.A Degree from the University of Florida in 1998.  

Al was a member of the Nationally Renowned Florida Gator Football Team where he received two SEC Championship rings in 1994 & 1995. Al has decided to use the lessons learned from his experiences as a world class athlete and as the father of an amazing adolescent son who has autism to help empower the lives of others through his ministry, his writing, and his presentations.
